Hello and Welcome!

Thanks for visiting my site

I'm a writer and a former journalist who fell in love with writing at a young age. At 13 my grandmother and I became pen pals and wrote each other faithfully for decades. To this day I always have a journal nearby to jot down ideas or experiences that I may want to use later.

After college  I wrote for a community newspaper where I learned to listen for and feel a story.  Now I work in an HR department writing features and presentations.

I wrote Mom's Pen to share my journey and the methods I used to work through the pain and healing of domestic violence in hopes it might help others experiencing a similar journey. I've learned much about myself, but also about the impact of domestic violence on children. Domestic violence is often handed down from generation to generation and manifests itself in cycles of calm then violence and back to calm. Victims often become the perpetrator to the next generation. To deal with ongoing trauma, children typically take on a role in their family. I became the caretaker and peacemaker in mine and then grew up to become a super pleaser.

Looking ahead, I plan to add a blog to this site and to write children's books for my grandchildren. I have a few book ideas brewing already.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this site and, of course, on my book Mom's Pen.

Wishing you all good things,

Posie

Moms pen still writes and brings me joy - 16 years and counting!
